Kevin Durant wins 2017 NBA Finals MVP Wearing KD10

Nike KD 10, The Golden State Warriors won the 2016-17 NBA championship with a Game 5 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Durant was named the Finals MVP. Durant still has to sign a new deal with the Warriors this offseason, but with reports that he's willing to take less money to keep this core together and Andre Iguodala implying everyone will be back next season, this could be the first of many titles for the former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson & Co. have their second ring, while Kevin Durant has his first — and vindication for his decision to come to the Bay this past summer. LeBron James was magnificent as well, but his spectacular Finals performance wasn't enough to lift the Cavs to a defense of their title (or even a sixth game in this series). Now, as the confetti settles, and before you get ready to look ahead to this offseason, here are three things you may have missed from Golden State's decisive Game 5 NBA Finals win.
Jordans 2017, Durant said he remembered the first day he walked into Warriors training camp. He was determined "to be myself." Then there were times in the season where "I was beating myself up” and he’d get “a tap on my head from Steph "Curry" or Draymond "Green". "When you have teammates that encourage you and lift you up, it is amazing," he said. The only other possible choice was LeBron James, who became the first player in Finals history to average a triple-double. With Miami, James beat Durant and the Thunder in the Finals in 2012. That was Durant’s first Finals. Kevin Durant faced a lot of criticism for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to sign with the Golden State Warriors as a free agent last summer, but he only needed one season to accomplish his goal of winning the NBA Finals. Durant was presented with the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Award on Monday night after his Warriors eliminated the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 129-120 victory in Game 5 at Oracle Arena.
Cheap Jordans 2017, The Golden State Warriors understand this firsthand after seeing a 73-win regular season vaporize in seven days last June. Stephen Curry stumbles into the NBA Finals at less than 100 percent. Draymond Green loses his head and gets suspended for Game 5. LeBron James reminds the universe he still reigns supreme, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a drought-ending NBA title. The basketball gods lay down a trip wire. It's hard to win in the NBA. So Kevin Durant's ring doesn't come with a discount or dull under the halo of the Warriors' almost perfect postseason. And it isn't diminished by the fact that, as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, he fell to the Warriors 12 months prior. Golden State's star forward asserted himself as the most dominant player on history's most dominant postseason team in a series crowded with stardom.
